There is so much about our world’s oceans that we have yet to discover. Scientists and STUDENTS are still finding new species in the ocean! A twelve-year old boy and his family discovered a new species of jellyfish on a beach in Tasmania. It was almost 5 feet in diameter! This jellyfish may have been spotted before, but it is so new that it has not been classified yet and doesn’t even have a name!

The above photos is of a moon jellyfish, which is a common sight during the summer, on the east coast of the United States.
