Are you a striper fisherman?

Do you spend time in the warm months fishing for striped bass? Would you like to contribute to science and what we know about this species?

GMRI is partnering with the Maine chapter of The Coastal Conservation Association on a citizen science project called Snap-a-Striper. The project is hoping to collect photos of both live-released and legally kept striped bass that have been caught in Maine waters. For the legally kept fish the project also ask anglers to the save and freeze the fish heads for further analysis here in the lab. There are even ways to win prizes for participating!

If you would like a fun and easy way to participate in this citizen science project check out this blog post for all the details.
