Moving when the water gets hot!

Say you’re relaxing in your bedroom—you’re reading a book or doing your homework—and suddenly the room starts to get hotter and hotter until it’s downright uncomfortable. You could turn on a fan or take off your sweatshirt, but most likely you’ll just get up and move to part of your house that’s more comfortable. Just as you might move to a different room to be comfortable, fish are starting to move to different parts of the ocean in order to be more comfortable!

The temperature of the oceans are rising, and fish that ordinarily like cold water have started to move north looking for colder waters. Scientists and fishermen have started noticing these patterns, and are now trying to figure out how they should respond to these migrations! What problems do you think might arise from these fish moving to different areas, and what do you think we could do about it?
