Looking back at Climate Change in 2016

Do you have any New Year’s resolutions for 2017? This is a nice time to look back at the past year, see how we’re doing in our own lives, and find things to do better in the coming year. It’s also a good time for the world to reflect on how we’ve been doing globally. A scientist from England has done just that. He compiled a list of extreme climate events that occurred in 2016, to see what climate change looked like last year. Climate change does not just cause warmer air temperatures in some places, it also causes more intense storms and shifting weather patterns to name a few effects. For example, this list includes record hot temperatures in India as well as a huge blizzard that hit the East coast last winter. Climate change is very complex, and the effects can be difficult to understand. However, looking at this list of extreme climate events, it might be time for all of us to make a New Year’s resolution to do something about climate change in 2017.
