Sea Smoke

It has been pretty chilly in Maine these last few weeks! Check out this photo of the waterfront, which was taken from the back of our building. It is neat to see the sea smoke swirling above the water. The smoke forms when very cold air moves over the warmer temperature water. You can see it on ponds, lakes, and rivers too if they are not frozen already.

Here is another amazing photo of sea smoke that was captured New Year's Day at Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine. The temperature was -8F and it made for an impressive sight on the water!

Do you have any photos of sea smoke near you?
