Earth Day - "The World's Largest Environmental Movement"

Happy Earth Day! We on the LabVenture! team love celebrating our amazing Earth every day, but on April 22nd many others will join in. Since 1970, Earth Day has been a yearly event - a global day of activism and civic engagement with the goal of protecting and improving our one precious planet. The Earth Day Network has identified plastic pollution as this years’ focus...and what an important one! Single-use plastic is a huge contributor of pollution to our land and in our waters. Marine life is particularly impacted by humans’ use of plastics - much of the discarded plastic that swirls through the ocean ends up in the bodies of large sea life. To combat this heartbreaking issue, the Earth Day Network is providing citizens with information and ways to get involved. This Earth Day, I’m committed to decreasing my own use of plastic products. I’ll opt for a metal straw and a glass lunch container rather than the typical, toss-able plastic. What ways will you contribute to this mission? How do you celebrate Earth Day in your community?

Check out the Earth Day Network's website here for more information.
