Scientists have been recording warmer than normal water temperature in the Gulf of Maine. Check the data out yourself. With warmer water seeing species that you don’t normally see this far north is becoming more common. Curt Brown, both a lobsterman and a scientist here at GMRI recorded this video in one of his lobster traps. In the video you can be a Black Sea Bass, a species commonly found south of Cape Cod, swimming among species like cod, cunner, and lobsters all species that we commonly see in the Gulf of Maine.
